Winterizing the Egyptian spring: why might business schools fail to develop responsible leaders?

Purpose This paper aims to theoretically answer the question: why might business schools in Egypt fail develop responsible leaders? Design/methodology/approach The author starts by discussing modernization theory (Lipset, 1959) – which highlights idea that more educated people there are a given society/nation, calls for democracy, social citizenship and justice will be launched address strong association between quality of learning development leadership norms. Moving forward focusing on education (Dewey, 1916) institutional (DiMaggio Powell, 1983), finds main conditions needed norms among school students. Findings identified following three necessary conditions: implementing management education, sustaining ensuring purposive hidden curriculum is well-planned schools. sees these as priorities developing skills students similar post revolution countries. Originality/value contributes filling gap leadership, public administration higher literature, conceptual studies role post-revolution periods conflict zones has been limited until now.
